Tidewater Renewables Ltd. (the “Corporation”) is a multi-faceted, energy transformation company that was incorporated in May 2021. Our focus is on the production of low carbon fuels, including renewable diesel, renewable hydrogen, and renewable natural gas, as well as carbon capture through future initiatives. The Corporate headquarters of Tidewater Renewables is in Calgary, Alberta and our field operations are located across British Columbia and Alberta. We currently have three primary business units: (i) Renewable Diesel, (ii) Renewable Natural Gas, and (iii) Renewable Hydrogen. The Corporation is also focused on expanding its renewable asset portfolio and maximizing its logistics reach throughout North America. Tidewater Renewables is a reporting issuer in each of the provinces of Canada and is traded on the TSX under the symbol “LCFS”.
Tidewater Renewables has an immediate opening for a Senior Financial Analyst reporting to the Controller. This is a full-time position based in Calgary.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly forecasts for capital expenditures, and operating expenses;
- Drive improvement in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial analysis and reporting processes;
- Prepare ad hoc economic analysis and management reports as needed;
- Prepares monthly lookbacks comparing accruals and budgets to actuals;
- Prepares monthly accruals;
- Assists with invoicing processes;
- Assists with cash planning and management processes;
- Finance liaison for commercial and field operations to support analysis and trending;
- Responsible for oversight and preparation of month-end operating revenues and cost accruals;
- Preparation, review and distribution of internal monthly financial reports;
- Support preparation of quarterly and annual external financial reports;
- Review and update division of interest on jointly owned assets and calculation of third-party fees for operating cost recoveries;
- Preparation and presentation of monthly actual and budget variance analysis;
- Assist with preparation of business unit budgeting and forecasting;
- Responding to requests from external auditors and preparing related working papers;
- Assist with preparation of consolidated budgeting and forecasting models, along with internal monthly operating reports;
- Optimize and document various business processes related to internal and external reporting matters;
- Works independently on various accounting and financial reporting related projects.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of financial accounting experience with a CPA or CFA designation
- Accounting or Finance degree considered an asset
- 2+ years’ experience with month-end accounting cycle
- 2+ years’ experience using QByte
- Renewable Energy industry experience considered an asset
- Proficient computer skills, including an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
